My name is Simone Venner, and many know me as "MsHolistic." I'm a Registered Holistic Nutritionist, yoga and meditation teacher who educates and guides people to take back control of their health.

I was diagnosed with IBS at age 14 after struggling with digestive issues from a young age. I had the type of health issues that people expect you to just ‘deal with’. The headaches, migraines, back aches, acne breakouts, chronic backache, asthma, bloating and recurring illnesses such as tonsillitis. My life was one big check list, and I had it all!

At this tender age in life, I didn’t know any different. So I just got on with it. There was never a suggestion that life could be any better than it was. The IBS symptoms varied… a lot! Some days, I had extreme bloating. Other days, I’d just stay in bed, unable to walk from the pain of standing upright. I consulted with countless doctors, nurses and consultants, and still no answers.

Then, at age 19, I was dealt the devastating blow that there was nothing anyone could do for me. And, to add insult to injury, that it was possibly all in my head! While I was initially shook, nothing was going to deter me from getting the health I deserved.

I tried EVERYTHING!

I tried stool softeners, prune juice, Chinese herbs and even regular colonic irrigation.

Sure, they helped alleviate some symptoms, but nothing resolved the issues completely.

Finally, enough was enough; it was time to get to the bottom of it all. I decided to take matters into my own hands and educate myself. I got busy. I ploughed through book after book, health documentary after health documentary. And then I hit the jackpot!

It was the food all along... My frustration started to grow into my passion. Before I knew it, I’d relocated to Canada and gone back to school.

By focusing on nutrition, I learned that we’re all capable of taking back control of our health. Food is not just a tool for preventing illness; it can also play a crucial supporting role for those with conditions like mine. And it can even reverse the symptoms of many illnesses.

My own battle with IBS gave me a deeper insight into the power of the gut - both in terms of giving health as well as taking it away from us.

Since discovering this wonderful not-so-secret fountain of knowledge, I’ve worked with clients all over the world to help them develop personalised programmes, and reduce or completely eradicate symptoms of ailments such as Crohn’s disease and depression. 

Crucially, I’ve also achieved something I’ve always been told was impossible: reversing my own IBS.

And when this happened… everything changed.

I began to really dig deep into how I can help more than one person at a time. I wanted to figure out how best to serve people who felt as helpless as I’d felt. I asked myself: What do they need? Where are they stuck? And how can I help?

Because I’d felt the phenomenal benefit of taking back control of my health, it became my mission to help anyone who felt lost and alone with theirs.

My ultimate goal is to bring the knowledge that has changed my life, and those of my clients, to the wider world.

I want to show that wellbeing isn’t simply about maintaining good physical health; it’s a life-changing lifestyle that can improve mental and emotional health through mindful eating, movement and living!

Yoga & Mindfulness

I’ve been practicing yoga since my mid-teens. Meditation was introduced to me from a young age by an uncle who practices Tibetan Buddhism.

In 2015, I headed to the motherland to become a teacher. I honestly couldn't imagine my life now without my daily yoga and meditation practice. We are learning that yoga and meditation is about so much more than the external benefits. Amongst other things, meditation can play an important part on the path to gut healing and overall vitality.

We need to take care of our bodies, so that our bodies can take care of us. I love teaching - everything from breathing work to alignment. There's a lot to discuss and learn, so let's get started on this beautiful journey together!
